Fire May 27, 2004 This sinkhole opened up on Route 590 North. Sinkhole The sinkhole opened under the car. It did not drive into an existing one. The 2nd car involved is the green one in the background. 2 Car MVA April 5, 2004 This Jeep missed a turn on Bay View Rd, hit a tree & flipped. Flipped Jeep January 24, 2004 A fire started in the engine compartment of this Thunderbird. The proximity to the house made this a more-than-urgent matter. Car Fire A Laurelton firefighter finishes the job. Car Fire December 2, 2003 This car was cut off by a van & ended up into a pole on the north side of the Bay Front Restaurant parking lot. The driver only had minor scratches. Car Into Pole Three feet to the left & this car would have ended up in the creek. Car Into Pole November 7, 2003 The driver of this car couldn't put it in park after careening off a median. A passer-by pulled her out before it rolled down an expressway hill. Pick-Up vs. Car The pick-up ran the stop sign. Pick-Up vs. Car July 30, 2003 This Buick turned into the path of a septic truck. Septic Truck The car driver escaped with only very minor injuries. Septic Truck May 5, 2003 This Explorer Pickup was damaged on 590 North when a dumpster fell off of a truck. The driver sustained only a few scratches. Car Down Embankment November 18, 2002 This accident was a result of the driver being distracted when a coffee cup spilled in the car. She escaped with "only" a broken wrist & ankle. Car vs. Tree This accident occurred at the Brockley Rd./N Winton Rd. intersection. Car vs. Tree November 16, 2002 The Irondequoit Screamn' Eagles Midgets Division on Q160 just before leaving for the State Finals with a firetruck escort. Screamn' Eagles The "Jaws of Life" were used to open the door farther to ease driver extrication. Car vs. Tree October 16, 2002 Bad weather contributed to this two-car crash on Empire Blvd. where one person was thrown approx. 30 ft from the back seat of blue vehicle. Person Ejected Laurelton responded to this accident with the West Webster FD. Person Ejected This red vehicle was the second car involved in the collision. (Sorry about the darkness of these pictures). Person Ejected Extrication tools were needed to free the passengers in the blue vehicle. Person Ejected September 11, 2002 9:45am-Pull firetrucks onto apron. 10:05am-Blow air horn in recognition of 1st tower collapse. 10:06am-Lower flag to half-staff to honor our brothers & sisters in NY, PA & VA. This white van was involved in the accident when his roof-mounted ladder caught on low-hanging wires .
